ORKUS MAGAZINE

Jubilaeum, Teil drei. SIDE-LINE

To celebrate their 5th anniversary, the A21-duo released a collection of 15 remixes they've made for other bands in between 2003-2007. We here find different interesting names from the industrial and dark electronic scene, which proves that A21 became a quite respected and recognized project. The concept isn't the most original, but there's an interesting variety in influences and styles. One of my favourite remixes is the one they've made for :W:. The remix of "You are a goth" is a real cool symbiosis between dark electro elements and ambient atmospheres. Other fascinating remixes are the ones realized for Bak XIII (like industrial meeting grunge), Ctrler (hard industrial), Altera Forma (d'n'b influences), Sonar (techno-industrial) and Snog (rather minimal). Among the other remixes they've made I would mention Synapscape, Foetus, Proyecto Mirage, Kiew and Rasputeen. It's now high time for A21 to surprise us with a new and very own album!

GOTHTRONIC

Ambassador 21 from Belarus has first come to my notice at their 2003 European tour, where I have seen them on 3 occassions. In those days they where more a Digital Hardcore act with strong roots to such acts as Atari Teenage Riot and Ec8or. They quickly gained a lot of success with there music in 2004/2005 including gigs on such festivals as Maschinenfest in Krefeld. Now they return with a remix album including remixes that they did for several acts troughout the years.
Normally I’m not a big fan of remix-albums, most totally miss the message of the orginal recording, but this is something different.
Cut&Go is a compilation including a lot of big names, groups like Snog, Foetus or Wumpscut are ofcourse wellknown in the scene and the remixes that Ambassador 21 did for these groups are of a very high quality.
One of my favorite tracks is Anti Culture of The Shizit, a group that I already knew of before A21. They captured the brutal sound of these digital hardcore guys perfectly, most remixes of groups give you a different perspective of the original, but this one is great.
Other tracks worth checking out are Alien Overdrive by Sonar, Getaway by Ctrler and Mister 29 by Kiew.
The 15 tracks on this album are worth checking out and maybe buying it.

ELEGY MAGAZINE

SCHLENDRIAN MAGAZINE

Weissrusslands Finest in Sachen Digital Hardcore Riot veroeffentlichen, was das Zeug haelt.

After having been remixed on "Drunken, crazy, with a gun", Ambassador21 get the reverse treatment on "Cut & Go", gathering here 15 remixes they have executed of other people's track. From the harsh noise of Sonar or Synapscape to the more syncopated beatsof Ctrler, Snog or Wumpscut, the 15 original artists get the cold belarussian treatment, and end up drenched in harsh distortion, punk energy and lo-fi grittiness. But hey, that's Ambassador21 as we have learned to like them.
