"Wir fahren unsere Welt mit Hochgeschwindigkeit gegen die Wand." Nach dem zu Unrecht weniger beachteten letztjaehrigen Album Das Leberwurstbrot und einem umjubelten Auftritt beim Maschinenfest 2005 wueten Rasputeen mit Gegen die Wand erneut mit vollen Schritten durch die Minimalelektro-Schublade. Produziert von Philipp Muench (Synapscape etc.), ist das neue Rasputeen-Material musikalisch wesentlich gefestigter als noch der Vorgaenger, der Inhalt origineller sowie die Wertschaetzung einfacher Worte, das Behandeln simpler Themen mit teilnahmsloser Gelassenheit absolut erste Pflicht – all das laesst Gegen die Wand original wie aus den Achtzigern klingen. Dass Maedchen und Pferde das Glueck dieser Erde sind, die Wand anzukacken (und sich schoen zu fuehlen) zu den Urspruengen menschlicher Gefuehlsausbrueche zaehlt, eine Schaufensterpuppe zu den aesthetischsten Gegenstaenden ever gehoert und auf dem Ruecksitz des Autos nichts zu suchen hat, dass man in Supermaerkten mehr erleben kann als nur Konsum und Kaufrausch – dies ist die Wahrheit, und nichts als die Wahrheit.

After changing the project name from Rasputin to RASPUTEEN, the unknown man behind that moniker released finally a new album (the second) for Invasion Wreck Chords, titled GEGEN DIE WAND. Produced by Philipp Muench (Synapscape) the new album contains 19 tracks of which 12 new, as the remaining ones have been released on the “2 hemden & 2 hosen” 7” (“Schaufensterpuppe”) and on “Pmünch” 3” CD (“Kontamination”, “Tunnelblick”, “Konsum”, “Schleudergang”, “Supermarkt” and “Neue menschen”). As for the first release you can track down so many influences that is amazing to see how well Rasputeen mixed them together. After the initial warning (an industrial version of the sound of an alarm) of “Epidemie”, get ready for the industrial dance of “Paradies” or “Konsument” (this one remembered me the early Pankow), the retro electro distorsions of “Drei detektive”, “Monotonie”, “Komm' kack' die wand an!” (a pop industrial version of Pyrolator?), “Plastikboogie” or “Baustelle bielefeld” the minimal industrialism of “Maedchen und pferde” or the tracks coming from “Pmünch”. Rasputeen took the sounds of old German electronic bands and blended it with industrial new wave adding a touch of the characteristic Ant Zen sound. If you loved the first album "Das leberwurstbrot", you’ll die for this one!

Second CDR for this poppy, minimal, and tongue in cheek side project by one of the members of SYNAPSCAPE. "Gegen Die Wand" is less EBM-minded than its predecessor, and more new wave and synth-pop (reminding of this other SYNAPSCAPE's side project, THE RORSCHARCH GARDEN). It's all very minimal and old-school, the lyrics reach a new high in pop absurdity, and it all goes down the ears pretty quickly. A curiosity for SYNAPSCAPE fans and a cool album for fans of the genre.
